On the stage of the Yerevan State College of Dance, the Russian composer Alexander Glazunov’s ballet “Raymonda” was presented for the first time in Armenia. College graduates and current students were engaged in the performance.
In a conversation with Aysor.am, college lecturer, prima ballerina Marina Grigoryan emphasized the value of the role of ballet in Armenia and the need to present new performances.
“We are experiencing great growth and upswing. It seems that an era of renaissance has begun for our school. The best are busy in the premiere and I have great hope that their ranks will be filled with talented and active young people, and our Armenian ballet will experience an awakening”, he expressed his hope.
The dancers included in the performance noticed that, despite the tension and the first stage of the performance, they are ready to perform with great responsibility and at a high level, and the young ballet dancer admitted that while the stage is tense, he is sure that the mood will change during the performance.
“Before going on stage, you are already in an excited mood, but after going on stage, emotions take over, and what you will express on stage depends on the artist.”
