Lawyer Javier Gómez de Liaño, victim of alleged pressure maneuvers when defending Luis Bárcenas, has asked the judge in the Villarejo case to summon several members of the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior during Mariano Rajoy’s first term. The lawyer, who appears as a victim in the case, has requested that the then Secretary of State for Security, Francisco Martínez, the former director of the Police Ignacio Cosidó and his deputy operational director, Eugenio Pino, be summoned.
Piece 36 of the Villarejo case investigates the maneuvers to accuse Gómez de Liaño of various crimes by a PP “legal lobby” headed by a State lawyer on leave. These are the statements made by three of those investigated in a recording that has been incorporated into the case. In the same conversation they point out that a certain “Alejandro” would be in charge of the maneuvers, under the direct orders of María Dolores de Cospedal, general secretary of the PP at the time of the operation.
