George Brown he died at 74 years old on November 16th. He founded the band Kool & the Gang with brothers Robert `Kool’ Bell and Ronald Bell, Dennis `Dee Tee’ Thomas, Robert `Spike’ Mickens, Charles Smith, Woodrow `Woody’ Sparrow and Ricky Westfield. In 1973 they incorporated the emerging trends of disco music into their sound, reaching the US Top 10 with «Jungle Boogie» in 1973 and «Hollywood Swinging» in 1974. After a period of relative decline, in 1979 they returned to prominence with Top 10 hits «Ladies Night» and «Too Hot» and the following year they reached no. 1 – their only chart-topping song – with «Celebration».
