The European Swimming Championships entered its third day this morning (Thursday), and the Israeli delegation continues to compete. The great hope for a medal Anastasia Gorbenko finished third in her qualifying heat in the 50m backstroke with 28.18 seconds – the eighth best result in the qualifiers, which earned her a ticket to the semi-finals to be held at 19:57.
* The first to jump into the water was Daria Golovati, who finished her 200 meter freestyle last time with a result of 2:03.82 minutes – 30th place in the qualifiers, and of course not good enough for the semi-finals.
* Leah Polonsky finished eighth in her preliminary heat in the 400 meter individual medley, when she stopped the clock at 4:53.35 minutes. The Israeli registered the 16th best time in the qualifiers and did not qualify for the semi-finals.
