London, February 11, 2026 – Forget kitchen nightmares, Gordon Ramsay is serving up a surprising revelation about his love life. The world-renowned chef, 59, recently confessed to stealing his wife, Tana Ramsay, 51, from a friend when they first met. It’s a story that’s less “perfectly plated” and more…complicated.
Ramsay, known for his fiery temper and exacting standards, admitted in an interview with Ok! magazine that he was instantly captivated by Tana’s beauty, comparing her to a young Julia Roberts. But the initial impression wasn’t mutual. Tana, it seems, found the future culinary icon both annoying and arrogant.

“Tana was driving the car, and I sat in the back seat and looked at my friend and thought: ‘Oh my God, your girlfriend is damn beautiful,’” Ramsay recalled. “She looked like a young Julia Roberts and brought a level of excitement like no other. I’m not quite sure what Tana said when she met me, but I got the impression that she wasn’t a big fan.”
Tana confirmed that assessment, stating simply, “He used to really annoy me.”
However, fate – or perhaps a bit of strategic maneuvering – intervened. Both were single within a month, and the chemistry quickly ignited. They ended up talking for an entire evening, and the rest, as they say, is history. The couple married in 1996 and have since built a life together, welcoming six children: Megan Jane (27), twins Jack Scott and Holly Anna (26), Elizabeth Matilda (24), Oscar James (6), and Jesse James (2), born in November 2023.
The family recently celebrated another milestone: the December 2025 wedding of their daughter Holly to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty at Bath Abbey. The event drew a star-studded guest list, including David and Victoria Beckham, chef Marcus Wareing, and TV presenter Dan Walker, alongside 400 fans and onlookers.
However, the joyous occasion wasn’t without drama. A scuffle broke out between paparazzi and security personnel as the bride and her father arrived, reportedly escalating into a physical altercation. According to Hello!, “The situation developed into chaos, when Gordon and Holly, wearing their wedding dress, were pushed around as she was going into the church.”
Family trouble
Adding another layer of complexity, a family feud has emerged between the Ramsays and the Peaty family. Caroline Peaty, Adam’s mother, was reportedly not invited to the wedding or Holly’s hen party, leading to tensions and accusations. Ramsay recently defended his family, telling Daily Mail that they “have done nothing wrong” and treated the Peaty family “like royalty.” A family member of Peaty’s responded by calling Ramsay a “bully” and dismissing his claims as “a pack of lies.”
