Government Council Takes Note of Agreement on Extradition of Criminals Between‍ Morocco and Sierra Leone

Rabat – The Government Council, meeting in Rabat on ⁣Thursday‌ under the chairmanship of Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, took note of an agreement on the extradition ‌of criminals between Morocco and the Republic of Sierra Leone, concluded in Dakhla on April 28, 2023, as well as draft⁤ law No. 28.23 approving said agreement.

Presented by the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, on behalf of the​ Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and​ Moroccans Abroad, Nasser‍ Bourita, this agreement aims to ⁢establish effective cooperation between the two⁣ countries in the field of the fight⁢ against⁤ crime.

Under this convention, the two countries undertake⁣ to proceed to the mutual extradition, following a request, the ⁤provisions of the ⁣said convention and the national laws of the two ⁢countries, of any person sought by the requesting State with a ‌view to being prosecuted or judged or in order to execute the judgment against him for an act requiring extradition.
