“Government of Tamil Nadu Launches ‘Uratshi Mani’ Scheme to Address Public Grievances in Rural Areas”

Chennai: In a bid to tackle the grievances faced by the public in rural areas, the Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced the ‘Uratshi Mani’ scheme. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is set to inaugurate the special call center, named ‘Uratshi Mani’, tomorrow.

Last year, in 2022, a government order was issued regarding the establishment of a help center to address the complaints filed in the Rural Development and Panchayat Directorate. Consequently, a call center called ‘Municipal Clock’ has been established within the Panchayat Directorate.

Chief Minister M. K. Stalin will officially launch this call center on September 26th. A centralized call number, ‘155340’, has been provided for residents of all panchayats in Tamil Nadu to report their complaints. The contact officer for the panchayat call center in each district will be an interview assistant appointed by the Collector.

The name ‘Panchayat Mani’ is derived from the story of Manuneetich Chola and emphasizes the prompt resolution of grievances. The center has been established to provide fair and equitable services to the people.

To facilitate easy access, a toll-free service will be launched at the Directorate of Rural Development. Complaint administrators at the call center or the official website will take appropriate actions to address the grievances promptly.

Additionally, grievances can also be received through various social networking sites. The complaints will be categorized based on their severity and subsequently addressed accordingly. Similarly, complaints received through social media will be collected at the Grievance Redressal Center, where necessary actions will be taken to redress them.

Officials have stated that arrangements have been made to receive complaints through direct calls to the call center, the official website, and dedicated apps.
