“Final Fantasy VII Rebirth”, “Dragon’s Dogma 2” or “Baldur’s Gate 3”: In the past few months, many game titles have been released that have received high ratings from critics. We present a few current titles for computer and console gamers here – perfect for the long Easter weekend.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
What it’s about: In the action role-playing game you slip into the skin of a classic fantasy hero – as a knight, magician, archer or thief you fight goblins and nasty lizards, but also mystical beasts such as cyclops, chimeras and dragons. Over the course of the adventure, which lasts several dozen hours, the character must prove that he is the chosen one to save the world from a vicious dragon.
Who the game is suitable for: The gameplay is less complex than some comparable current role-playing games (see below), but this makes “Dragon’s Dogma 2” very accessible even for beginners. The combat system can be mastered very easily on the game console with a controller, and the fast-paced battles are refined with stylish graphic effects.
The focus is on the vassal system, which allows players to recruit up to three companions who complete the group of heroes with their skills. The well-functioning automated interaction with these companions in particular makes “Dragon’s Dogma 2” a special experience.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
What it’s about: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth follows the journey of fighter Cloud Strife as he teams up with a diverse group of allies to stop a malevolent organization called Shinra from exploiting the planet’s resources. In the Japanese-style action-heavy role-playing game, players are confronted with dangerous opponents with huge swords or firearms and reveal dark secrets about Shinra’s true intentions. The open game world serves as a background for all sorts of adventures, which offer dozens of hours of fun outside of the fights.
Who the game is suitable for: “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” is a typical representative of Asian action role-playing games and is based on two central pillars: Firstly, the complex combat system with depth, which on the one hand allows you to proceed very individually. On the other hand, the game can be adapted to your own wishes and is therefore also suitable for beginners. The second pillar is the often very long video sequences that bring the players closer to the characters on their way through the Far Eastern fantasy adventure.

Baldur’s Gate 3
What it’s about: Baldur’s Gate 3 takes players into an epic fantasy world where they take on the role of a hero who teams up with a diverse group of allies to take on a dark threat. As players travel through the dangerous realm of Faerûn, they will encounter powerful enemies, tricky puzzles, and moral dilemmas. Anyone who takes the time to read all the small and large stories of this incredibly creative role-playing game will spend well over 100 hours in this masterpiece. And then starts all over again.
Who the game is suitable for: Baldur’s Gate 3 features tactical, turn-based combat and intense role-playing decisions that allow players to shape their own story and influence the fate of the world. The fights can be paused in order to make strategic decisions, because no two battles are the same here. “Baldur’s Gate 3” offers an incredibly captivating storyline with a dynamic game world that is second to none. A feast for role-playing fans.
