Puducherry: The son of DMK Rajya Sabha MP NR Ilango was killed in a car accident near Puducherry.
DMK state council member NR Ilango lives in Chennai. His son Rakesh went to Puducherry from Chennai with his friend in his car for work.
On the way back to Chennai from Pondicherry, Villupuram district Kottakuppam was approaching Keelputhupattu next when it unexpectedly crashed into a barrier. Rakesh, son of NR Ilango, who was traveling in the vehicle, died on the spot. A friend who traveled with him has been admitted to a private hospital in Pondicherry for treatment.
Rakesh’s body was trapped inside the car and after fighting for about an hour, the fire department with the help of a JCB machine recovered his body and sent it for autopsy. Kottakkuppam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident
