The Armenian Greco-Roman style wrestling team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals at the “Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski” international wrestling tournament that ended in Poland, reports the Ministry of Sports and Culture.

The title of winner of the tournament was won by 67 kg Slavik Galstyan. In the final wrestling, Galstyan defeated the representative of Japan with a score of 8:1 and became the gold medalist.

Among the representatives of Armenia, Shant Khachatryan (72 kg) and Karapet Chalyan (82 kg) won silver medals.

Khachatryan wrestled with Hungarian Robert Attila in the finals and lost, while Chalyan lost to Norway’s representative Eksogh Mukubi.

As part of the Greco-Roman wrestling team, Rudik Mkrtchyan (55 kg) became the bronze medalist and stood on the third step of the podium.

The other representative of Armenia, 87 kg Gevorg Tadevosyan, lost the fight for the bronze medal, 60 kg Gevorg Gharibyan took the 5th place, and 63 kg Hrachya Poghosyan and 130 kg Davit Ovasapyan were left out of the medal fight.

The team participated in the tournament under the leadership of newly appointed head coach Armen Babalaryan.

Earlier, the Armenian freestyle team also successfully participated in the international wrestling tournament held in Warsaw.

All 4 wrestlers included in the team became medal winners. The title of the winner of the tournament and the gold medal was won by 70 kg Arman Andreasyan. The Armenian wrestler won 3:2 over the US representative in the final.

Arman Avagyan, weighing 79 kg, became the silver medalist. In the final, our wrestler lost to the representative of Ukraine with a score of 2:10.

The other two representatives of Armenia, Manvel Khndzrtsyan (57 kg) and Hrayr Alikhanyan (74 kg), became bronze medalists, standing on the third step of the podium.
