TNPSC has released the Group 5A exam notification to fill 161 vacant posts in the Head Secretariat including Division Officer, Assistant. It has been announced that you can apply for this exam from today till September 21 on the website www.tnpsc.gov.in. Anyone can apply for this exam, eligibility details including study can be found in detail in this collection.

For what posts is this Group 5A Exam?

In this notification, 74 vacancies for the post of Assistant Officer in Law and Non-Finance Division and 29 vacancies for the post of Assistant Officer in Finance Division have been notified in the Secretariat. In this notification, 49 vacancies for the post of Legal and Non-Finance Assistant and 9 vacancies for the post of Financial Assistant have been notified in the Secretariat. These vacancies are allotted to the respective categories as per Tamil Nadu reservation rules.

How much is the salary?

The salary for the post of Legal and Non-Finance Division Assistant Officer and Finance Division Assistant Officer has been fixed between Rs.36,400 to Rs.1,34,200 in the Head Secretariat. The salary for the post of Legal and Non-Finance Assistant and Financial Assistant in the Secretariat has been fixed between Rs.20,000 to Rs.73,700.

What is the age limit?

The upper age limit for applying for the post of Legal and Non-Finance Division Assistant Officer and Finance Division Assistant Officer in the Chief Secretariat is 40 for Scheduled Castes and Tribes and 35 for all other categories.

The upper age limit for applying for the post of Legal and Non-Finance Assistant and Financial Assistant in the Secretariat is 35 for Scheduled Castes and Tribes and 30 for all other categories.

Education and Other Qualifications:

To apply for the post of Assistant Officer, Legal and Non-Finance Division in the Secretariat, one must have completed any degree. Also should have experience of not less than five years in Tamil Nadu Government in the post of Junior Assistant or Assistant or both.

To apply for the post of Finance Division Assistant Officer in the Secretariat, one should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Statistics from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission. Also should have experience of not less than five years in Assistant category in Government of Tamil Nadu including services rendered in Junior Assistant post, Tamil Nadu Ministry Service or Tamil Nadu Judicial Service.

To apply for the post of Legal and Non-Finance Assistant in the Secretariat, one must have completed any degree. Also should have experience of not less than three years in Assistant category including services rendered in Junior Assistant post, Tamilnadu Ministry Service or Tamilnadu Judicial Service in Government of Tamil Nadu.

To apply for the post of Financial Assistant in the Secretariat, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Statistics. Also should have served not less than three years in Tamil Nadu Government in Junior Assistant category or Assistant category or Tamil Nadu Ministry of Justice or Tamil Nadu Ministry of Judiciary or both categories.

TNPSC informed that the applications of the candidates who do not fulfill the above qualifications will be rejected.

When is the exam?

Eligible persons can apply from today till 21st September. If any mistake is made while applying, time is given from September 26 to September 29 to correct it. It is mandatory for those who are already in service to apply for the exam to obtain the unobstructed certificate from the office they are working in. December 6 has been set as the last day to get and submit the no-obstacle certificate.

It has been announced that this Group 5A exam will be held on December 18. It has been announced that the examination will be held on that day from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm for the General Tamil paper for 100 marks and from 2 pm to 5 pm for the General English paper for 100 marks. As far as the examination centers are concerned, it has been informed that the examination center will be set up in Chennai only. When will the result be released? When will the work be allocated?

TNPSC intends to release the results of the written exam in the month of April 2023. TNPSC intends to conduct the certificate verification and counseling in the month of May and make the job allotment. Check the website www.tnpsc.gov.in to know more details about the exam.
