Clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine for children aged 6 to 11 will begin in the near future, said Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya Center. He did not name the exact date and place of the research.
“I signed contractual documents on this issue with companies that will conduct research. They are about to start, we can wait in the near future, ”he told TASS.
In November 2021, the Ministry of Health registered the Gam-COVID-Vak M (Sputnik M) vaccine, which is intended for adolescents aged 12–17 years. Mr. Gunzburg said that vaccination of children with this drug could begin at the end of December, and in the group from 6 to 11 years old – in another two months.
