A new initiative by the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership aims to modernize member identification and engagement through the launch of the Electronic Muhammadiyah Membership Identification Card (E-KTAM) and the integrated MASA Application. The move promises increased accessibility and convenience for members seeking validation and access to organizational resources.
The shift to a digital system eliminates the need for in-person registration at Muhammadiyah offices in Jogja, Jakarta, or regional locations. According to a statement released on Saturday, December 13th, members can now complete the entire process through the MASA Application.
Simplifying Membership Registration
“For those who don’t have a KTAM, take care of it immediately, now it’s easier, including these younger siblings. Just use the application,” a senior Muhammadiyah official stated during the E-KTAM launch event at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS). This accessibility is expected to significantly boost E-KTAM adoption rates, as members can now register from anywhere, even their homes.
The association emphasized that while the E-KTAM process is now digital, physical offices remain open for visits and engagement. “You don’t need to come to the office to make an E-KTAM, you can come to the office to visit,” the official clarified.
Beyond Identification: A Multifaceted Application
The MASA Application offers more than just streamlined membership registration. It serves as a comprehensive platform for Muhammadiyah members, integrating access to essential religious materials, including the Qur’an, and tools like a Qibla direction finder.
Furthermore, the application is designed to facilitate financial contributions. A key feature allows members to conveniently manage and pay any outstanding dues directly through the platform.”Through this MASA Application, it also serves as a consolidation forum for member fees. So, if there is a bill in the application, please pay it immediately according to the bill stated,” the official explained.
This integrated approach signals muhammadiyah’s commitment to leveraging technology to strengthen community bonds and enhance member engagement in the digital age.
