Hapoel Ashdod in handball continues in its great shape, with a big 30-25 home win over Maccabi Rishon LeZion, a victory equal to first place in the league.
The Reds take another important step on the way to placing first in the table after a victory with a lot of character and fighting over the Yellows from Rishon LeZion. The Reds dominated the pace of the game almost throughout the 60 minutes and even reached a record advantage of 7 goals in the first half.
The Yellows from Rishon LeZion showed signs of coming back at the start of the second half and even managed to close almost the entire gap to one goal difference 18-17 but from there the Reds picked up gear and with phenomenal ability of Ashdod goalkeeper Igor Arsitz with amazing stops and record ability in Risto Witch’s attack. Nivo Levy Alexander Babich, Ashdod sailed for the eighth consecutive victory and they take over the place in the first in the table.
