Bus driver Mirko Liesebach-Moritz always has beer on board. This time, a few bottles were destroyed – even though sports director Marcus Mann had teased before the departure – half seriously, half ironically: “After a win there’s nothing to celebrate.”
Mann was not on the bus, drove back in the car with team manager Fabio Morena. The rest let it rip after the 90 intensive minutes in the Ostseestadion. Birthday child Cedric Teuchert (was 25 on Friday) bumped into the winning goal scorer Linton Maina and enjoyed the guild. Music from A to Z boomed out of the speakers – every player could ask for their favorite track.

Maina had already announced the bus party after the game when he was talking about Teuchert: “I’ve heard before that he wants to do something if we win. I’m curious what…”
Birthday boy Teuchert celebrated after the “dirty” 1-0: “Victories like this are nice and strengthen the team structure again. At the end of the day, I don’t care if it was happy or not. The three points were very important.”
Because the cup cracker against Gladbach is due on Wednesday, 96 is training through. Training is on Sunday at 10 a.m., after which Teuchert will provide a meal – debut as a newcomer and birthday brunch in one dish.
