Chandigarh- A case has been registered against Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh on a complaint filed by a female athlete coach for sexual harassment. Subsequently, he has announced that he is not going to continue in charge of the sports department.
Haryana is ruled by BJP and Democratic Janata Party led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. BJP’s Sandeep Singh, ௩௭, was the state sports minister.
The former captain of the Indian hockey team has been elected as MLA for the first time.
In this case, a female coach working as the coach of the state junior athletics team had recently filed a sexual complaint against Sandeep Singh. The female coach spoke to reporters at the office of the opposition Indian National Lok Dal party.
She said that Sandeep Singh, who met her at the ‘gym’, kept harassing her by sending messages on social media.
He also alleged that he was invited to his home and raped. Following this, the female coach lodged a complaint with the Chandigarh police. Based on this, a case was registered against Sandeep Singh yesterday.

Accordingly, Sandeep Singh has announced that he will not continue in charge of the Sports Department till the end of this case.
“There has been an attempt to tarnish my name. Sandeep Singh has said that a complete investigation should be conducted in this matter.
