The Haut-Rhin prefecture has announced a series of stringent security measures ahead of the Coupe de France match between AS Biesheim and FC Metz, scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025. These measures, enacted through a prefectural decree, aim to prevent potential public disorder linked to traveling supporters.
A senior official stated the restrictions are based on “a precise risk analysis” conducted in collaboration with internal security forces. The primary objective is to “prevent any problems to public order, protect spectators, residents and guarantee the smooth running of the meeting.” The restrictions will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
Travel and Parking Restrictions for FC Metz and RC Strasbourg Supporters
The decree specifically prohibits individuals identified as supporters of FC Metz or RC Strasbourg – or those behaving as such – from accessing the AS Biesheim stadium and from driving or parking on public roads in Biesheim and its surrounding areas.
The restricted perimeter includes key routes such as the D12, D52, and D468, as well as the Path of the Four Winds, Fishermen’s Street, Stadium Street, Rue des Carolingiens, and Rue de l’Écluse.
Exemptions for Chartered Transportation
An exception has been made for FC Metz supporters traveling via chartered buses or minibuses organized by official fan groups or associations. However, these groups must travel under the escort of internal security forces, following a pre-determined route. The designated meeting point for the escort is the Cigognes car park in Ostheim, from which they will proceed to Biesheim. This condition closely regulates access to the area for organized supporter groups.
Additional Prohibitions: Pyrotechnics, Projectiles, and Alcohol
Beyond travel restrictions, the prefectural decree also prohibits the possession, transport, and use of pyrotechnic articles, smoke bombs, and flags or banners of a violent or hateful nature. Furthermore, the possession of any objects that could be used as projectiles and the transportation of alcoholic drinks are also forbidden within the designated perimeter and timeframe.
These additional measures, officials say, are intended to further limit the potential for incidents around the stadium and ensure the safe progression of the match.
The prefecture emphasized that these measures are designed to ensure a secure and orderly event for all involved.
