Hazza bin Zayed Visits Al Sarooj Park – New Facilities Revealed

AL AIN, January 26, 2024 – A newly revitalized Al Sarooj Park in Al Ain is aiming to become a central hub for community life and economic activity, following a complete redevelopment overseen by the Al Ain City Municipality. The park’s upgrades,showcased during a visit by His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan,Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region,are designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and support local businesses.

A Community Market and Unified Design Aesthetic

The park now features a “Seventh market” and a standardized “Road Furniture Imprint” project, signaling a commitment to both economic growth and urban harmony.

His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s inspection tour highlighted the “Seventh Market,” a community market intended to bolster local economic activities and provide a platform for productive family projects. This initiative seeks to inject vibrancy into public spaces by supporting commercial endeavors at the grassroots level.

He also reviewed the “Road Furniture Imprint” project, a city-wide effort to create a unified visual identity for street furniture – including chairs, benches, and umbrellas – throughout the Al Ain region. The project prioritizes safety, quality, and sustainability, utilizing durable materials designed to withstand the local climate and minimize long-term maintenance costs.

Parks as Pillars of Urban Planning

his Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the crucial role of parks and public facilities in urban planning, stating that their growth is “an essential pillar” in building integrated neighborhoods that cater to the needs of families. He underscored the importance of designing green spaces to promote healthy lifestyles and create a balanced urban environment for all segments of society.

Al Sarooj Park boasts a range of amenities, including dedicated spaces for 36 mobile camping vehicles, 60 barbecue sites, a children’s play area, and a theater for performances and cultural events. Visitors can also enjoy a 9,500-square-meter tree-shaded walkway and a 7,000-square-meter artificial lake surrounded by seating and a lighted pathway.

His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan was accompanied during his visit by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Rashid Musabah Al Munai, Director General of Al Ain city municipality, and other officials from the Department of Municipalities and Transport and the Al Ain city Municipality.
