Someone posed as Elon Musk and scammed a woman with almost a million pesos through online dating.
According to the victim, the scammer used artificial intelligence to recreate the image of Elon Musk during a video call.
So although at first she had doubts, she ended up believing that she was talking to and having a romantic relationship with Elon Musk, 52 years old.
An alleged Elon Musk scammed her for almost a million pesos
On Instagram, someone posed as Elon Musk and scammed a South Korean woman whose pseudonym is Jeong Ji-sun.
According to the victim, the alleged Elon Musk he scammed her with 70 million won – the equivalent of 875 thousand 858 pesos Mexicans- via online dating.

The scam began on July 17, 2023, when the alleged businessman added it to the Meta platform.
And although at first Jeong Ji-sun indicated that he did not believe in the scam, everything changed when he shared photos of his work.
Added to that he talked to her about his children and explained how he randomly connected with his fans.
Furthermore, the supposed Elon Musk validated his identity with a video callwhich would have been created with the help of artificial intelligence.
Eventually, the scammer gave the woman a Korean bank account and convinced her to invest by promising it would make her rich.
Elon Musk had already warned about scams with his image
Although no more victims of scams by this alleged Elon Musk have been reported, it is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that the tycoon’s image has been used for this purpose.
