Speculation has emerged on Russian state television that Ukraine has received tactical nuclear weapons from the West. “I am sure that tactical nuclear weapons are already in Ukraine,” declared Alexei Mukhin, head of the pro-Kremlin think tank Center for Political Information, despite offering no concrete evidence.
While no evidence exists to support Mukhin’s assertion, he alleged that the weapons were delivered alongside the F-16 fighter jets. “Unfortunately, history has shown that when Ukraine announces something, it often turns out to be true several months later,” Muchin stated, referencing Zelensky’s announcement about the F-16 deliveries.
This bold statement sparked immediate reaction in the studio. Konstantin Zatulin, a member of the ruling United Russia party, vehemently denied the claim. “I find this utterly ridiculous. I can assure you that no such delivery of nuclear weapons has occurred.”
Russia’s escalation of nuclear rhetoric extends beyond mere speculation. A report from the Russian news agency TASS last week announced the development of a drone capable of monitoring radiation levels in the event of a nuclear attack. This “doomsday” drone, equipped with a radiation detection system and a camera, can be remotely controlled using virtual reality glasses or a mobile device.
The drone’s compact size and portability allow for storage alongside other nuclear weapons monitoring equipment. It can operate for up to 20 minutes and travel up to two kilometers, depending on the environment and contamination levels.
“FPV drones are known for their agility and speed,” said Kuzjakin. “When combined with skilled piloting, they can navigate through buildings or industrial facilities for reconnaissance and inspection.” He emphasized the need for such technology to be equipped with sensors to detect excessive radiation levels.
The announcement of this drone has raised concerns about Moscow’s potential deployment of nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Some analysts suggest that this development is part of a larger puzzle, hinting at an imminent nuclear attack.
