Muscat: Heavy rain continues in Oman. Two children drowned in the wadi in Ibri. The incident took place in Al Raiba area on Thursday morning. The dead bodies were found during the search conducted by the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority.

Heavy rain continues in northern governorates. There were strong winds, thunder and hail. The Civil Aviation Authority said that people should not cross, stay away from low-lying areas and avoid sailing as many provinces are flooded. According to the Royal Oman Police, the traffic on the Iski-Sinaw road was blocked due to the flooding of the wadi.

The rains were received in North Bathina, Dahira, Buraimi, South Bathina, Muscat, Dakhiliya and South-North East Governorates. The Meteorological Center has warned that there may be 20 to 50 mm of rain. According to the weather center’s warning, waves of 2 to 3.5 meters are likely to rise in Musandam Governorate and Oman coasts. It was overcast since morning in all the places that received rain, including Muscat. Rain is expected to continue on Friday. It is also advised that people should not go out except for emergency purposes.
