Tamil Nadu Government Declares Public Holiday Due to Heavy Rains
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday for all schools, colleges, private institutions, banks, financial institutions, and public sector organizations in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, and Tenkasi districts today (Dec. 18) due to heavy rains.
Holidays for schools and colleges:
A holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, Nellai, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi district today (Dec. 18) due to heavy rain warning.
Holidays only for schools:
Following the heavy rains, the respective district collectors have ordered holidays only for schools in Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, and Theni districts.
Kodaikanal – Holidays:
Due to heavy rains, only schools in Kodaikanal circle have been declared holiday today.
Postponement of Semester Examinations:
Anna University has postponed the semester examinations scheduled to be held today in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thenkasi, Thoothukudi, and Virudhunagar districts due to heavy rains. Similarly, the examinations that were to be held under the distance education program have also been postponed.
