Inmet issued a potential danger alert for the state of São Paulo, which has already suffered greatly from heavy rains during the week

The weekend arrived, and after a week of heavy rain in the Center-South, the expectation was for sunshine to take advantage of the brief break. However, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the rain will persist, and there is the possibility of hail, especially for the Southeast.

This is due to increased moisture convergence over the region. Today (12), rainfall volumes of around 100 mm are expected, which could be even greater in areas such as the coast of São Paulo and the border between Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais.

Inmet issued a potential danger alert for the state of São Paulo, which has already suffered greatly from heavy rains this week. The capital had at least 19 confirmed flooding points, and many of them were completely impassable.

This frequency of intense rain, winds and storms in the Southeast is directly related to the El Niño climate phenomenon, which increases temperatures, generating more energy in the atmosphere and facilitating the formation of heavy clouds.

On the

As in the Southeast, the South also suffered from rain during the week, and the expectation is that instability will continue during the weekend, but with less intensity. The capitals will have high temperatures, above 30ºC.

Southeast

The forecast of intense rains for São Paulo affects the entire region, since, according to meteorologists, the presence of low pressure in the coastal region of São Paulo contributes to the formation of areas of instability, resulting in heavy rains.

The other capitals, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and Vitória, will have high temperatures in the coming days.

The high temperature persists, and in capitals such as Boa Vista and Macapá, it can reach 38ºC.
