Melbourne: Hardik Pandya shined by taking three wickets and scoring 40 runs in Twenty20 World Cup against Pakistan. After this, Hardik is now clarifying his position in the discussions about making the non-striker run out.

These rumblings about running out the non-striker should stop. It is a law. That’s all. Spirit of the game is not the issue. I personally have no objection to it. I don’t mind if I stay outside the crease and get run out. It’s my fault, says Hardik.

Matchups are overrated

The Indian all-rounder also says that the matchups are overrated. Look at where I am batting and what the situation is. The matchup can be seen in the top 3 and 4 batsmen. Sometimes I need to score more runs against a bowler. But if the situation doesn’t call for it, I won’t take the risk if it affects my team negatively.

Matchups are overrated in Twenty20 cricket. It might matter in ODIs and Tests. But I don’t believe in matchups in Twenty20s. I have not won the World Cup. But I have won many other tournaments. Hardik says, “I never worried about the matchups.
