Hero Motors has been raising the prices of its products such as motorcycles and scooters since July 1.
Hero Motors has said it will raise the price of vehicles by up to Rs 3,000 a liter due to rising commodity prices, inflation and rising input prices.
In the midst of rising petrol and diesel prices and third-party insurance premiums, middle-class families and poor people are driving two-wheelers. In this context, the announcement of Hero Motors raising the price of the vehicle to suit the model has caused dissatisfaction among those thinking of buying the vehicle.
In a statement to the stock exchange, Hero Motors said, “We are raising the price of vehicles by up to Rs 3,000 due to rising commodity prices, inflation and rising input prices. The hike will take effect on July 1.
Hero Motors has not given any explanation as to how much the price increase will be for any model motorcycle or scooter. However, it has only reported that the price is going up to Rs 3,000.
Hero Motors sells 100cc to 200 4V models in the market. The HF100 motorcycle is priced at Rs 51,450 and the Xpls 2004 V model is priced at Rs 1.32 lakh.
