Islamabad: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Sunday wished Holi to the Hindu community in the country, saying the festival reminds of shared humanity beyond religious or cultural differences. President Zardari, in his message on the occasion of Holi, extended greetings to the Hindu community. Zardari (68) said that the festival of Holi symbolizes the victory of good over evil. He said that the Hindu community of Pakistan has done commendable work for the country.

The President said that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees religious freedom. He said that Pakistan is a beautiful bouquet of people of all religions. He said that the people of the country can reach unprecedented heights and prosperity through unity and bring glory to Pakistan on the world map. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal in a statement highlighted the importance of promoting inclusivity and respect for diverse cultural traditions within the country, The Express Tribune newspaper reported.

President Zardari’s son Bilawal said such celebrations promote inclusivity within the nation. Bilawal stressed the need for social harmony, advocating mutual understanding and solidarity among the population of Pakistan. According to the census, the total population of Hindus in Muslim-dominated Pakistan is 2.14 percent.
