New Delhi: The recent surge in the spread of Covid in China is alarming as it is much higher than ever before. Contrary to the official data published by the Chinese government, the number of people who die from corona every day is predicted to be more than 5,000. The forecast was provided by Airfinity, a UK-based health data company. The analysis also shockingly estimates that 1.3 to 2.1 million people could die in China from this new wave of Covid.
As the spread of the Corona virus has increased in China, there has also been a problem in getting healthcare facilities for the people of that country. Health workers, doctors, nurses, all continue to work despite a growing shortage of staff in Shanghai’s hospitals.

Older people are at greater risk
Millions of senior citizens in China are at high risk of contracting the coronavirus because they do not yet have full vaccine coverage.
Congestion in hospitals
People flock to hospitals in China to get tested for Covid-19. A new wave of corona is likely to peak in January in areas where the number of cases of covid is increasing rapidly.
Affected healthcare workers
Although the practice of wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) continues in many hospitals in China, many of the hospital staff working there have been infected with the corona virus. But the work continues due to lack of manpower.

Drugstores in China have also started running out of flu and cold medicines. Due to Corona fear, in China, they are buying oxygen kits and flu medicines. Hence, due to the sudden increase in demand for flu medicines, retail pharmacies run out of flu medicines and there is a shortage.

A senior World Health Organization (WHO) official has said the Chinese government is struggling to keep track of Covid-19 cases as the coronavirus spreads rapidly in China.
