In the biennial elections of Haj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB), the ‘HAB Combined Forum’ led by the current president M Shahadat Hossain Taslim has won the full panel.

The Chairman of the Hub Election Board Mohammad Hafizur Rahman announced the election results at the end of the election held at the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention in the capital on Saturday.

The strong candidates of the ‘HUB Combined Forum’ won the 27 posts of the HUB Central Executive Council by a huge margin. Candidates of ‘Hub Combined Forum’ won 13 posts of Dhaka Regional Council and 7 posts of Chittagong Regional Council with huge margin of votes. Earlier, 7 members of Sylhet Regional Council were elected unopposed.

On March 2, the hub election was held at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention in the capital, Shahbagh, Dhaka. Moreover, polling is going on continuously from 9 am to 5 pm in Sylhet and Chittagong.

As an observer in the election, the Director General of the Ministry of Commerce (Commercial Organization) was Dr. Zeenat Rehan, Deputy Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, MM Mostafa Jamal Chowdhury, Mohammad Moshiur Rahman.

Hub elections were held in a festive, transparent and joyful atmosphere. Two panels compete for election. ‘HAB Collective Forum’ led by M Shahadat Hossain Taslim and ‘HAB Democratic Unity Parishad’ led by Jamal Uddin Ahmad. Votes received by M Shahadat Hossain Taslim are 404. On the other hand, Jamal Uddin Ahmed got 227 votes. M Shahadat Hossain Taslim was elected by getting more than 177 votes. The defeated candidate Jamal Uddin Ahmed congratulated the winning candidate M Shahadat Hossain with flowers.
