The Human Rights Solidarity Organization said that the account issued by the General Command’s Internal Security Service regarding the death of activist Siraj Daghman is discredited and unacceptable.

The organization stated in a statement regarding deaths under arbitrary detention in Haftar’s prisons in Benghazi and Qarnada that 3 citizens died within three days while they were under arbitrary detention in the period between April 19 and 21.

The organization also noted that everyone was detained without trial in isolation from the world and deprived of the basic rights stipulated in international human rights law.

The organization considered that the only way to know the truth about the death of Daghman and two others would only be through an independent investigation directly supervised by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya. Otherwise, he is a victim of murder in detention.

The organization held legal responsibility for those who directly committed these crimes, including military and civilian leaders, and also referred to the government of national unity and the government appointed by Parliament, which funds official and unofficial bodies through secret budgets and pays salaries to them, according to the statement.

The Internal Security Service of the General Command justified the death of political activist Siraj Daghman by falling on his head from a high place while trying to escape from the bathroom window by climbing over sewage pipes.

The agency said in a statement about the incident that the family of the deceased received his body after completing all legal procedures, under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, and proving the causes of death.
