The searches lasted more than three hours.

Apparently, the massive detention of CSKA fans was associated with the large-scale use of pyrotechnics in the stands in the second half of the match. According to the online edition Championat.com, they began to release fans from the Timiryazevsky police station only after three in the morning.

The CSKA club published a statement on the night of November 29, in which it expressed regret that during the match with Zenit “for the first time in the history of VEB Arena, pyrotechnics were used on such a scale.” “We condemn those who committed these illegal actions, but at the same time we believe that the innocent should not suffer. We will continue to contact law enforcement agencies to resolve the situation as soon as possible. The club will also provide free legal advice to our fans,” – the club said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Russian Premier League said that the actions of the police “violated comfort and endangered people’s health,” and promised to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident, RIA Novosti reports.
