According to the newspaper The Parisian, the victim’s name would be Assia Matoug. At the request of investigators, Youcef Matoug, her husband, and the couple’s three children, aged 8, 14 and 16, went to the Paris Criminal Police Brigade building on Thursday morning.

In an interview with French radio RTL on February 15, Youcef Matoug repeated his version of events, saying that Assia had left home on January 31 and that he did not ask her where she was going because the victim was in the habit of going to fairs to buy clothes. and then resell them. He claims to have stayed home to look after the children.

Since the beginning of the investigation, the various inconsistencies in the testimony of Assia’s husband have raised suspicions in the police. He only reported his wife missing on February 6.

According to information collected by the investigators, Assia rarely left her apartment, in the Montreuil district, on the outskirts of Paris, which explains why few people in the neighborhood knew her, according to The Parisian.

Unemployed, Assia lived with her husband, also without a job, and their three children. They had no passage through the police.
