‘I’m not very ambitious. There is a lot of work to be done in numbers, not so much. I think what I have done so far is a lot for me.’
Rafiyat Rashid Mithila said in an interview to Calcutta’s media ‘Ei Samy’.
In response to a question in the interview, Mithila said, ‘I am not very ambitious. There is a lot of work to be done in numbers, not so much. Here are two films, I have done some films in Bangladesh, I have worked in television for a long time. It seems that what I have done so far, I am doing, is a lot for me.’
Mithila’s performance in the movie is being highly appreciated. In this context, he said, ‘This is what happens when you work from the heart, you can adapt yourself to any role. That’s how I did it in this film. I was able to bring out the character. The audience is liking it.’
Currently, many Bangladeshi artists are working in Kolkata. In response to a question in this regard, Mithila said, ‘Since my childhood, I have seen the artists of two Bengals working together, Opar Bengali, Opar Bengali. The trend still continues. The barbed wire fence now seems to be up, especially because of the OTT. Artists and visitors from Opar Bengal want to see the work of Opar Bengal.
So will Mithila be seen in other movies in Bengal? Mithila answered this question in Raisoye. Said, ‘Everyone knows this is not my main profession. I have a full time job. I act from a place of love. In that case, if there is an opportunity to do good work, if there is a good story, character and I want to do it from the heart, I do it.’
In the conversation with Mithila, the topic of Srijit Mukherjee inevitably came up. In this interview, the actress said about doing a film with Sreejith, ‘It is the director who decides, the artist does not decide who will be in a film. That’s why the question seems stupid to me.’
Recently, this actress’ ‘Abhagir Swarg’ was released in Kolkata. Mithila played the lead role in the movie. Based on the story of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, the movie is produced by Anirban Chakraborty. Mithila is currently staying in Kolkata to promote the movie.
