The shareholders of Avangridsubsidiary of Iberdrola in the US, have approved by majority all the proposals presented at the general meeting of shareholders, held in Boston, Massachusetts. Galán addressed the shareholders of the company and reaffirmed its investment commitment to accelerate the energy transition: “Now more than ever, we need to advance energy autonomy and decarbonization. Avangrid is prepared to lead the US towards a clean energy future and provide our customers with more secure, sustainable and affordable energy.”
At the meeting, the appointment of Avangrid’s independent public accounting company was ratified, the remuneration of directors was approved as a consultative measure, and the modifications to its bylaws to implement changes in the committees. avangrid invested 2.7 billion dollars (the equivalent of 2,400 million euros) in its businesses of grids and renewables in 2022 and continues to strengthen its network for better customer service.
