ICC World Test Championship: India disappointed in points table despite historic century at Centurion

Centurion: India will play South Africa (SAvIND) in the third Test series of the ICC World Test Championship. India’s first series was against England and New Zealand. There is still one Test to play against England. The ICC World Test Championship points table has been released following the conclusion of the first Test against South Africa at Centurion.

Despite the win over Centurion, India failed to make much of an impact on the points table. India are fourth in the points table. India’s average is 64.28 percent. India has more than anyone else. But the ICC considers the average of wins in Tests played. India played seven Tests and won four. Two were defeated and one ended in a draw.

Australia tops the points table with an average of 100. Australia have won all three Tests they have played. Australia’s hat-trick victory over England in the ongoing Ashes series. Sri Lanka are in second place with 100 per cent success in winning two Tests. Pakistan is third. Pakistan’s points average is 75. They have won three of the four Tests and lost just one.

India is followed by West Indies (25%), New Zealand (16%), England (7.14%), South Africa (0) and Bangladesh (0).
