Europe has greatly undermined its reputation, and Russia will “think 10 times” if proposals are made to restore relations, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“When they sober up or if they sober up, we’ll think 10 times. We will weigh the proposals based on the extent to which they correspond to our interests and to the extent that the European partners have become reliable and respectful of the agreements. They greatly damaged their ability to conduct negotiations, their reputation, but, perhaps, not definitively,” Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that the most important task for Russia today is not to restore relations with Europe.
“I think at this stage we don’t need to think about how to restore relations with Europe. Now Russia should think about how not to depend on the actions of European politicians, which are dictated by Washington. We must insure ourselves in all key areas of economy, security, and life, on which the future of our country depends,” Lavrov said.
