The trailer launch of ‘DR 56’ directed by Rajesh Anandleela and starring Priyamani was held at Prasad Label in Chennai this morning. Actress Priyamani, actor-producer Praveen, director Rajesh Anandleela along with the film crew, directors Gaurav, Raghavan and Dan Sandy were special guests in this event.
Speaking at the event, Priyamani said, “My film is releasing in Tamil after ten years. Before that, my film ‘Charulata’ was released in Tamil. Now it is a pleasure to come to Chennai again for my film and to meet you. When the crew of ‘DR56’ came to my house to narrate the story, After listening, I said only one thing. If you take what you said, the film will be a big hit. Similarly, when I saw the film, I felt that they have done what they said.
A puppy also plays an important role in this film. I like animals very much. That puppy was also one of the reasons why I acted in this film. The next important reason is that this story is about the medical mafia. Even today, similar incidents are happening. Many are based on true events. Therefore, when watching the film, that fact will be new to everyone.
Priyamani answered the following questions, “How does it feel to be acting in Tamil after ten years?” When asked, “My career started in Tamil. Many good things happened like Bharathiraja, Balumakendra and next ‘Baruthiveeran’. It’s a little trepidation coming back here again. But I am coming with a good picture. This film was made in two languages Tamil and Kannada. The next film ‘Quotation Gang’ is also being shot in Tamil and dubbed in other languages,” he said.
“Will this be a movie about what doctors do wrong?” When asked, he replied, “It is not like knocking. It was taken with the intention of showing that such things also happen here,” said Priyamani.
Is there any reason for the 56 in the picture? When asked, “The hero of the film is Praveen. In the film, my character has to take a pill once every 56 minutes. That’s what 56 means. And in the title of this film, DR. does not refer to Dr. You will know what it means when you watch the film,” he said.
