Mumbai: Actor Naseeruddin Shah says that if the Mughals were wrong, their monuments like the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort should be demolished. He was answering questions as part of the promotion of his new web series ‘Taj Divided by Blood’.
The Mughals did not come here to plunder but to settle. If they feel that they have done wrong, they should demolish the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. Nasiruddin Shah said that it is shocking and ridiculous to believe that the mistake happened during the Mughals.
People do not know the difference between the likes of Akbar and the invaders like Nadir Shah and Taimur. People like Nadir Shah and Taimur came here to loot. But other Mughals came here to stay. Blaming the Mughals for everything is not doing justice to history. History books glorify Mughals over Indian culture.
