The fact that the court decided to publish the verdict tomorrow does not indicate a good thing, said public figure Edgar Ghazaryan in a conversation with journalists, talking about the motion to detain Gayane Hakobyan.

“The court had the right to publish not only the full version of the verdict, but also the final part. This is just a detention order. Knowing that they are dealing with the mother of a dead serviceman who has health problems and has declared a hunger strike, what is the point of keeping them in detention for one more day? I am sure that tomorrow the judge will issue a decision on detention. It is special to postpone the publication of the decision, because a rally is planned in Kornidzor tomorrow, and the people who are going to show support will probably be in Kornidzor tomorrow. They calculated that, so that there would be no public support, they would be quietly taken to the detention center,” said Edgar Ghazaryan.

Referring to the presence of a large number of police officers in the court yard, Edgar Ghazaryan said.

“There were policemen, let them go and protect Ashot Pashinyan, so that he would not end up in the streets like an orphan, without owner, and create problems like that. He is an object of state protection, he is a 21-year-old boy, he neither studies nor works, why did he end up on the streets,” Ghazaryan said.

To remind, the examination of the protest against the arrest of Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of a soldier who died in the 44-day war, was held at the Shengavit seat of the Yerevan Court of Common Jurisdiction.

The decision will be published tomorrow at 15:00.

“The judge stated that, unlike many other cases, he does not want to publish the final part of the decision, but the whole decision. And yesterday was a very extensive session, and that can be a reasonable justification. It is an acceptable decision, but not at all desirable,” Gayane Hakobyan’s lawyer Ruben Melikyan told reporters.
