The Petroleum Products Distribution Company confirmed today, Monday, that the consumption of improved and super gasoline constitutes 18% of the total gasoline consumed domestically only, while it revealed that the total daily consumption of gasoline of all types reaches 32 million liters.
The company’s general manager, Hussein Talib, told the (INA): “The most important thing for us is to provide regular gasoline, which is sold at a price of 450 dinars per liter, and it is the type most consumed by citizens, as it constitutes 82% of the total daily consumption, and what is available is produced by refineries.” National with the addition of quantities of imported mixed with it.
Talib added, “In 2023, when we were importing 14-15 million liters per day, the cost of a liter of this type of gasoline was around a thousand dinars, but now it is around 800-850 dinars after the Karbala refinery entered service, as imports decreased to around 7.5-8 dinars.” Millions of liters, and as production increases and the northern refineries enter production, imports will decrease to 4 million liters per day.”
He continued, “The state is still supporting petroleum products, but now the support will go to the necessary areas, going to the simple citizen, such as the taxi driver, through regular gasoline, which is sold at a price of 450 dinars per liter. We will focus the support on this product as well as the gas oil product, as for the two gasoline products.” “The improved and super models target owners of modern vehicles.”
He stated, “The quantities consumed of improved and super gasoline daily constitute 18% of the total daily consumption, and the country consumes 32 million liters of gasoline of all types daily.”
He explained, “80% of the quantities of improved gasoline are imported from abroad, and the total consumption reaches approximately 4.5 million, and at the peak of consumption in the summer season, it reaches five million liters. As for super gasoline, it is completely imported and costs approximately 1,400 dinars per liter.”
