SRC issued a message.
“Investigation and operational intelligence department of the RA State Revenue Committee, Yerevan city department of the National Security Service received information that in one of the apartments of the city of Yerevan, an Iranian citizen is illegally buying and selling foreign currency without a state registration and license.
In order to clarify the circumstances of engaging in illegal business activities, the employees of the SRC Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department jointly with the employees of the Yerevan City Department of the National Security Service developed and undertook complex operational-investigative measures. The operative-investigative measure “control purchase” was also carried out in a covert manner, within the framework of which, an Iranian citizen engaged in buying and selling foreign currency without a license was provided with 800,000 Armenian drams to buy Iranian rials and transfer them to an Iranian bank card at the same time. As a result of the measures, it was found out that in one of the apartments of the building located at 4/3 Amiryan street in Yerevan, citizen of the Republic of Iran S. A. trades in foreign currency – dollars, drams, Iranian rials, and also makes money transfers from RA to the Islamic Republic of Iran without state registration and accounting in the tax authority.
Based on the factual data obtained as a result of the events, a protocol was drawn up and sent to the Legal Department of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia regarding the violation of the requirements of Article 407, Parts 1 and 3 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia by the citizen of the Republic of Iran in order to discuss the issue of administrative responsibility.
At the same time, a report on the crime was submitted to the main department of investigation of economic crimes and smuggling of the RA Investigative Committee, in order to discuss the issue of initiating criminal proceedings.
The Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence of the State Revenue Committee urges to refrain from carrying out activities without state registration and appropriate license.
