JAYAPURA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the Minister of Tourism, Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno appreciated the development of the Containder trash clean application.
For the second time, Containder had the valuable opportunity to present directly in front of President Jokowi. This opportunity took place when President Jokowi opened the Papua Street Carnival in the Papua Governor’s Office Area, Jayapura City, Papua, Friday (7/7/2023).
On that occasion the Papua Implementation Manager for Containder Irsanto Imbiri explained to the President about the development of this application that focuses on waste management from upstream to downstream.
“Since the inauguration of the Papua Youth Creative Hub last March, our application has now been implemented in Biak Numfor Regency and will soon be processing in Bitung City, North Sulawesi. Thank you very much, Mr. President,” said the young man from Sorong who introduced it on March 21, 2023 Containder to President Jokowi at the moment of the inauguration of the Papua Youth Creative Hub Building in Jayapura.
“Since the presentation before Mr (President Jokowi), we have now received 6 Letters of Interest (LoI) from six regions for the application of clean container waste, namely Biak Numfor Regency, Yapen Islands Regency, Jayapura City, Sorong City, Ambon City and Bitung Father,” he continued.
Furthermore, the member of the Papuan Inspiring Youth of Sorong City informed that Containder had received a grant of USD 20,000 in the AIS Business Acceleration Hub 2023 program organized by the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum.
From the grants received, Containder implemented through a program carried out in Biak Numfor-Papua Regency, to reduce waste, especially plastic in the sea in the Pacific Ocean region.
Containder invited 100 Sea Warriors consisting of various groups to take part in this activity. With the trust given by the AIS Forum, it strengthens Containder’s commitment as a Tech Start-Up that focuses on waste management from upstream to downstream.
Not only that, Containder is also trusted by Unilever Indonesia, as their partner in realizing their commitment to implementing sustainability programs for the environment.
