Norwegian police on Tuesday, November 9, shot and killed a man armed with a knife in the center of Oslo. According to the police, he threatened several people.

According to a police report, one of its officers was injured while trying to apprehend the attacker. After that, they opened fire on the man, and he died in the hospital from his injuries.

Videos posted on social media show a stripped-to-the-waist man standing outside a store with a large knife, a police car pulls up and pushes him against the wall of a building. The attacker was able to open the passenger door and leaned inside the car.

“We do not rule out any motives, but at this stage nothing indicates that it was a terrorist attack,” Police Commissioner Egil Jorgen Brecke told reporters, without giving details about the identity of the attacker and his possible motives.

The Norwegian tabloid VG writes that the attacker was a Russian citizen, a native of Chechnya for about 30 years, as a result of a knife attack in 2019, a man died. The attacker was undergoing psychiatric treatment.
