A new warning system is being introduced in Croatia, which will send danger signals to people’s mobile phones in the event of a natural disaster, reports MTI Davor Bozinovic based on the announcement of the Croatian Minister of the Interior. The system, called SRUUK, will be launched on Saturday, and everyone will receive a notification on their phone as a test.

Similar systems already exist in the world, and the Croatian one will be a combination of them. SRUUK not only informs citizens about natural disasters, but also informs them of the measures to be taken to reduce human casualties and property damage.

With the help of the system, it will also be possible to track how many people are in a threatened area, which will facilitate the work of the emergency services.
