Incident in Thiruvananthapuram: Lok Sabha Seeks Report on Tear Gas Shell at UDF March

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Secretariat has sought a fact-finding report from the Kerala government regarding the incident in which the police fired a tear gas shell at the UDF secretariat march in Thiruvananthapuram in which MPs participated last December. The Union Home Ministry has been instructed in this regard.

Kerala Police threw a tear gas shell at the stage where MPs and senior leaders were lined up, said K. Muralidharan had lodged a complaint with the Lok Sabha Speaker. Based on this, the Union Home Secretary has been asked to get a report from the Kerala government within 15 days and submit it to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.

Muralidharan’s complaint demanded action against the DGP. In the complaint, it was said that the opposition leader, 7 MPs and 6 MLAs were on the stage when a high-powered shell was thrown and due to this, they were injured.
