Dhaka: Indian bowler Jayadev Unathkat has taken his first wicket in Test cricket. After a wait of about 12 years, he got a chance to play for the Indian team. He made his Test debut in 2010.

The 31-year-old Unathkat’s comeback to the Indian team was not a smooth road like the IPL. It is a comeback that has come across the lion’s share of local cricket. He got a chance to play in the Indian team at a very young age. He made his debut in Test cricket in 2010, ODI in 2013 and T20 in 2016. Left arm bowler. But, he didn’t get all those opportunities consecutively. So he did not lose heart.

He was very active in local cricket. He set the record as the bowler who took most wickets in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy series. A total of 19 wickets. Apart from that, he effectively led the Saurashtra team to win the championship.

He played 96 first-class matches and took 353 wickets. Similarly, he has played 116 List A matches and captured 168 wickets.

He is currently part of the Indian team in the Bangladesh Test series and has taken his first wicket in Parmet cricket. This is the reward of a 12-year wait. He has bowled 16 overs and taken 2 wickets in the first innings (so far) of the second Test against Bangladesh.
