New Delhi: India continues its rescue mission to evacuate people, including students, from Ukraine. 470 Indians crossed the border in the first phase. It is learned that the second group also crossed the border. 17 Malayalee students will return on Air India flight to Delhi tomorrow. There will be 16 Malayalees on the Air India flight arriving in Mumbai. India will send two more flights to Hungary tomorrow.

Flights to Romania today are delayed. Flights will depart only after receiving information from the Embassy. The cost of eviction will be borne by the Central Government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said at a meeting yesterday that the first goal was to ensure the safety of Indians, including students currently living in Ukraine. Students are staying in bunkers in many places. Many worry about how long the water and food will last. In this situation, action was taken to evacuate them immediately. The move to repatriate them through the countries on the western border began. First, Indians are deported to Ukraine via the Romanian-Hungarian border. Indian officials arrived at the border to monitor the action. Those in the western region are advised to reach the border in an orderly manner first. Many of the students had started arriving at the border by noon.

Students will have to be provided with transportation to reach the border. It is also suggested to seek the help of student agents for this. The first phase will bring students through Romania. Air India flights will return to Delhi, Mumbai and Bucharest in Romania tomorrow. The flight from Hungary will also start tomorrow. Air force aircraft will be used if required. But there are concerns about how those in bunkers, including Kiev, will be brought to the western border. If the conflict continues, it will be difficult for students to secure food and water. India has sought the assistance of the Government of Ukraine for this purpose. The students demanded that Russia evacuate those who could not cross the western border.
