Australian Nutritionist Stacey Hatfield Dies From Rare Childbirth Complication

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family of Australian nutritionist and social media influencer Stacey Hatfield, who tragically died from an extremely rare complication following the birth of her son. Hatfield, 30, of Melbourne, was known online as @naturalspoonfuls, where she amassed over 17,100 followers with her advocacy for a toxin-free lifestyle and natural recipes.

A Dream Fulfilled, A Life Cut Short

Hatfield gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Axel, at home on September 29. However, her husband, Nathan Warnecke, shared that moments after the delivery, an “unforeseen and extremely rare complication” arose. Despite swift transport to a hospital and the dedicated efforts of medical staff, Hatfield could not be saved.

“Hospital staff were amazing and did the utmost to help, but ultimately nothing could be done despite their best efforts,” Warnecke wrote in a social media post. He described the loss as “devastating” for himself and all who knew and loved his wife.

A Passion for Wellness and Motherhood

Hatfield’s online presence centered around promoting a holistic approach to health, emphasizing natural ingredients and a lifestyle free from toxins. Her passion for wellness extended to her pregnancy, which she openly shared with her followers. Warnecke recounted that over the past nine months, Hatfield spoke to her unborn son daily, expressing her love.

“It was her life’s biggest dream to be a mum. She did it. On her terms, exactly the way she always dreamed of doing it,” Warnecke shared. He added that she was able to hold, nurse, and confirm Axel’s gender before passing away, cherishing every moment with her newborn son. “She loved him so much and still, continues to love him.”

Community Support for a Grieving Family

Following the tragic loss, family, friends, and the wider community have rallied around Warnecke and baby Axel. A GoFundMe campaign has already raised over $20,000 to assist with funeral expenses, childcare, household bills, and time off work for Warnecke.

Warnecke paid tribute to his wife, describing her as his “beautiful wife, soul mate and best friend.” He reflected on their nine years together, stating she was “the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning.” He continued, “She was my lighthouse in the storm, and the world is less bright without her in it. As her husband, I couldn’t ask for a better partner.” He further lauded her character, calling her “the most beautiful, loving, caring, hardworking, disciplined, intelligent and trustworthy human being I’ve ever known.”

The outpouring of support reflects the profound impact Hatfield had on those around her, leaving behind a legacy of wellness, love, and a cherished newborn son.
