Earlier this year, GGD Kennemerland and RIVM presented the results of the study Health in the IJmond in 2020. An information meeting about this study will be held on 21 September for residents of Wijk Aan Zee, after a meeting had already been organized in IJmuiden.
In recent years, residents of IJmond municipalities have experienced more nuisance from dust, smoke and soot from the (base metal) industry and are more concerned about their living situation. This and more is apparent from a series of three health surveys that GGD Kennemerland and RIVM conducted in the past 12 years. GGD Kennemerland advises to reduce emissions and to continue the policy to improve air quality unabated.
