International Women’s Day- Afghan news media airs an all-female panel discussion

The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in 2021. After that, a series of allegations are being made that women are being denied their rights including education and employment. About 75 percent of women journalists are said to have lost their jobs.

In this case, on the occasion of Women’s Day, a discussion program in which only women took part has caused surprise in the news media called Dolo News from Afghanistan.

The program was hosted by journalist Sonia Niazi. Journalist Asma Khogyani, who participated in the event, said that according to Islam, women have all the rights to get education and go to work.

Former university professor Zakira Nabil said, “Whether you like it or not, women exist in this society. He said that if a girl could not be educated at school, she would be educated at home.

In this discussion program which was aired for about 50 minutes, various issues including women’s rights and problems faced by women were discussed. Many people on social media are congratulating Tolo News for broadcasting the program.
