Mumbai | KL Rahul will lead Lucknow, the new team in the IPL next season. The team has not been named yet. It is learned that the Lucknow team has selected Rahul from the draft ahead of the mega auction to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.
The Lucknow team will have Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Rahul has captained the Punjab Kings for the last two seasons. Bishnoi also played for Punjab. Stoinis was based in Delhi Capitals.
The Lucknow team is owned by RPSG Group. The group acquired Lucknow for Rs 7,090 crore. Rahul is currently the captain of the Indian ODI team in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
